Invocation

Invocation

Vitosha –
mountain-sister,
looker-over-my-shoulder,
carer-for-me
as I walk the streets I do not know –
follow me.

Vitosha –
herder of my dreams of bears and wolves,
shepherdess of pine-trees
and of blue-skinned beeches,
ermine-wearer –
stay with me.

Vitosha –
rememberer, misty-head:
I have slept in your arms;
and as you sleep now
under your years-of-leaffall coat –
remember me.

Vitosha –
sudden-revealer of sunlight,
rain-reveller,
snow-maker,
frost-embroiderer –
conjure for me.

Vitosha –
underground-gossiper,
singer-to-yourself,
wind-whisperer –
put your mouth to her ear,
talk to her for me.

Vitosha –
sing to her as she walks your paths.
As she sleeps by your side
breathe peace around her; comfort her.
Mountain-sister,
stay with her.
