Allen Stevens was born in Warrington, when it was
in Lancashire. He has spent most of his life working
in education: in London and then in Brighton, and
most recently teaching English Literature in Bulgaria
and EFL in Luxembourg.

His poems have appeared in journals in the UK –
Stand, Verse, The North, Critical Quarterly, Long Pen
and elsewhere – and been broadcast on BBC radio.
A collection of poems with translations into Bulgarian,
Annotating Heaven, came out in 2001.

He now lives in Belgium and in Bulgaria.
